I completely forgot another perfect example of on-the-job stupidity from today! So, while opening today's mail, we got a returned letter from one of our members (I work at a health insurance provider). Inside the envelope were various examples of our company's marketing prowess - brochures, a flyer, a sample member card, and a letter. The letter extolled the virtues of the new Medicare Part D drug plan that is currently confusing our president and innocent elderly people nationwide. At the end of the letter, we ask the member to upgrade their coverage to this great new product.
That's not the funny part. What is hand-written on the outside of the envelope itself, however, is PURE COMEDY GOLD. Here's what it said:
"Please remove this name from your mailing list - He has been deceased for 22 years. That is long enough to stop receiving his mail, so DELETE this address."
Heh...my company cares about you and stuff...whatever. Member schmember...buy our crap.
Vaarwel!
