I am a huge fan of the Watchmen graphic novel. It's one the most brutal, tough-read comics I've ever encountered, and it's brilliant. I was nearly vibrating out of my chair with excitement for the movie.

But now? Ehh...not so much. I've heard nothing but conditional, apologetic reviews of it, and it sounds like I'm going to be disappointed. Severely. It seems that jiggly man parts, slow-motion effects, softcore porn, and ultra-violence have bumped the densely-layered storyline to the backseat, if not out of the car altogether.

We're still planning on seeing it, but my excitement level has plummeted to the point that I'll be seeing just because it's the Watchmen movie. If anyone can give me a reason to get amped up for this movie again, I would LOVE to hear it. I want to love this movie, but sheesh...nobody's talking about the story AT ALL.

Conversely, the latest Star Trek trailer filled me with so much giddy joy that my buttcheeks popped off and square-danced across the living room floor.

I have since retrieved them.

  2. Hi Hilary!

While it was great to see yo' man t'other day, no...jiggly man parts don't do a thing for me.

Unless they're mine. THOSE I find endlessly fascina--never mind.

  3. I am so happy that Star Trek will be opening soon. It gives me something to think about instead of seething that they postponed Harry Potter until July. July!!!!
